Rainy season
The rainy season brings greener surroundings, fresher air and a stronger river, making this part of Lanquin feel especially alive. At times, heavy rain and wind can cause temporary power cuts in town. When this happens, El Retiro uses a generator to support key areas such as reception, the restaurant, bar and selected rooms while power is restored.
Good to know before booking:
El Retiro is a spacious riverside property with paths, stairs and different levels throughout the grounds. The atmosphere is usually relaxed, but some evenings — especially on weekends — can be more social around the bar and common areas, with music and activity. For that reason, the lodge is best suited to independent guests, couples and groups looking for a nature-based stay with some social energy.
